Trichster

Fifteen million people in the United States suffer from a disorder that most have never heard of. That’s three times the amount of those who suffer from anorexia or bulimia. Trichotillomania is an impulse disorder that causes people to pull out their hair.  Trichster follows eight extraordinary people for a year as they struggle to stop their hair-pulling behavior while still living their everyday lives.  A film that aims to normalize a disorder that often isolates and alienates its sufferers, Trichster creates an understanding of the disorder through the perspective of the people who live with it every day.

 With an intended release date in the Spring of 2014, Trichster is in production in New York City until August 2013.
